Forge Priority: When to Craft Weapons vs. Armor
The Forge is your primary progression payoff in +1 Loot To Forge. Understand how to diagnose your active dungeon failure condition and allocate your precious ores to the right equipment slot.
How to Choose Your Next Craft
| Combat Symptom in Dungeon | What to Craft First | Strategic Goal |
|---|---|---|
| Enemies take >5 hits / fight takes too long | Weapon | Increases base damage and unlocks multi-hit or AoE skill attacks. |
| Player HP drops to zero in <10 seconds | Armor | Provides flat damage reduction and defense scaling against enemy swipes. |
| Combat is smooth and survivable | Save Ores / Check Bag | Accumulate higher-tier ores or sell common stock for Max Ore Count bag space. |
Using the Forge Safely
1. Select Weapon or Armor Intentionally
The Forge interface features separate category options. Never forge casually without verifying that the toggle is set to your intended equipment category.
2. Read the Preview panel, not a copied recipe table
The Preview panel lists the gear categories the current ore load can land in, each with its own percentage. Nothing here maps one ore to one named sword, so a static ore-to-item table cannot be checked against the live build. Read the split before you confirm.
What the Preview percentages mean →3. Open Backpack Immediately
Newly forged items go directly to your Backpack inventory. They do not equip automatically. You must open Backpack, inspect the stat card, and click Equip to activate the upgrade.
