Ore Strategy: When to Forge vs. When to Sell
Managing your ore inventory is the biggest bottleneck in early +1 Loot To Forge progression. Learn how to protect rare crafting materials while generating enough Gold to upgrade your bag capacity.
The Core Ore Dilemma
In +1 Loot To Forge, ores serve exactly two primary functions:
1. Forge Crafting
Combine ores at the anvil to create weapons (damage) and armor (defense). High-tier items require rarer ore grades.
2. Sell Stall Exchange
Exchange surplus ores for Gold coins. Gold is necessary to buy Max Ore Count bag capacity upgrades.
The 4-Step Ore Decision Flow
Check Your Backpack Before Town Visits
Before returning to town from the dungeon, open your Backpack. Identify whether you are close to crafting your next weapon or armor piece. Note the specific ore names and quantities required.
Never Hit "Sell All" In the Stall
Selling all ores indiscriminately will wipe out rare materials you need for high-rarity forging. Reserve your highest tier ores (such as Amethyst, Obsidian, or special crystal drops) safely in your bag.
Liquidate Common Ores for Max Ore Count
Common early-stage ores accumulate rapidly. Sell these surplus common ores at the Sell stall to generate Gold. Immediately take that Gold to the capacity upgrade station to increase your Max Ore Count.
Evaluate Live Results Immediately
Commit ores to one craft, inspect the new equipment card in your Backpack, and equip it. Do not spam multiple crafts in a row without checking if you already got a high-damage weapon.
Critical Pitfalls to Avoid
- Dumping all ores into the Sell stall: You will be forced to re-farm rare dungeon stages from scratch.
- Forging without checking bag space: If your bag hits capacity mid-dungeon run, high-value ore drops cannot be picked up.
- Ignoring Armor crafting: Many players only craft weapons and wonder why they keep getting one-shot in room 3+.
